Momo had an allergy reaction the other day–either due to her new doggie treat “turkey bacon” that we got her at Petsmart or from her potty grass that my mom accidentally bleached. On Saturday when I was playing with her, I noticed some red spot on her tummy. I had a feeling that it might be a minor allergy reaction, but since the spot didn’t look too serious, I decided to wait until her checkup appointment which was on the following Monday.
That Monday morning, however, when I took her to see her vet at Banfield, I saw more spots on her body from her head to her tail! Some of the red spots on her body were about half an inch! And lets just say, the panic started to set in. The doctor verified that it was a small allergy reaction. My mind was screaming, “BIG RED SPOT!!! Not a small reaction!!” But I sucked it in and calmly nodded at the vet’s assessment. We didn’t know what Momo was allergic to, but I had a feeling that it might that turkey bacon treat.
After taking her prescribed allergy medicine, Momo just wants to sleep. Poor baby! It took a lot of coaxing to make her take the allergy medicine. She doesn’t like the taste at all. Every time she sees me coming towards her with her medicine, she runs off. Below is her picture after she took her benadryl.

Poor Momo! I’m not a vet, but I would agree that it was probably the treats considering how she would only have had a skin reaction on the parts of her body that came in contact with her potty grass. The treats would have caused a reaction all over her body because it was an internal reaction. Poor girl!
Hope she feels better soon!
